Create Caramel, Toffee, Marshmallow, Fudge & Many More with this Easy to Use Sugar Thermometer!
A sugar thermometer is crucial for successful sweet making. A sugar thermometer is required to accurately measure the sugar syrup temperature as specific temperatures are required to produce different types of sweets.
Easy to use: Colour coded scale with the sugar stages clearly indicated (‘thread’, ‘softball’, ‘firm-ball’, ‘hard-ball’, ‘soft-crack’, ‘hard-crack’ and ‘caramel’).
Sugar syrup requires precise temperature control for best results. Unlike water, sugar syrup temperature does not increase in a smooth manner when it is heated, syrup pauses at certain stages/temperature. Because of this, it is important to observe the temperature at all time when heating sugar syrup.
The temperature range of this thermometer is 100 - 400F or 40 - 200C. The Fahrenheit scale is recommended since the wide range between degrees on the Celsius scale is not accurate enough for sweet making. In terms of accuracy, this sugar thermometer has small grades of measurement (e.g. every 2°F rather than every 5°F). 5°F markings are not accurate enough for sweet making.
