What is the difference between the moulds?


Chocolate Moulds: These are clear plastic FDA approved moulds for chocolate. These are flexible, easy to work with moulds. Great for both newbie sweet makers and seasoned professionals, these versatile chocolate moulds offer affordable price and come in lots of different shapes and sizes. These moulds can be reused; ensuring care is taken not to damage or scratch the plastic over time. Chocolate moulds can withstand temperatures up to 120F (48C), these moulds are not suitable for hard candy or other hot ingredients.

 

Hard Candy Moulds: These are clear plastic FDA approved moulds for hard candy. These moulds are stiffer than the chocolate moulds. These moulds can be reused; ensuring care is taken not to damage or scratch the plastic over time. Ideal for hard candy (boiled sweet) lollypops and sucker sweets, these moulds are made specifically to deal with the high temperatures needed when working with sugar syrups. These moulds come in lots of different shapes and sizes. Hard candy moulds can withstand temperatures up to 375F (190C).

 

Silicone Moulds: Manufactured from FDA approved silicone, each silicone mould brings consistent detail and design. Crisp shapes, sharp lines, and excellent detail. Silicone moulds are super flexible and you can easily unmold once the chocolate/sugar is cold - they pop right out. These moulds can be used time and time again. Temperature range of -40 to 450F (-40 to 230C).

 

Polycarbonate Moulds: Crafted from extremely durable polycarbonate, these moulds bring the finest detail and design to your chocolates or hard candy. How do I clean the sweet moulds?


- Chocolate Plastic Moulds – Hand wash only, not dishwasher safe. Wash in luke-warm water and rinse for best results.

 

- Hard Candy Plastic Moulds – Hand wash only, not dishwasher safe. Wash in warm water and rinse for best results.

 

- Silicone Moulds – Dishwasher safe or hand wash.

 

- Polycarbonate Moulds - Hand wash with warm water (using as little soap as possible). Do not wash with abrasive materials, because that will scratch the moulds and the scratches will show up in the chocolates. Do not use in a dishwasher or use hot water.
